What are dark circles?

In today’s fast paced world, dark circles have become a prevalent health and aesthetic issue. This condition manifests as a change in under-eye tone, ranging from brownish to bluish hues, or as a shadowing effect in the eye area, imparting an aged and fatigued appearance.
Understanding the types of dark circles might help you choose the most effective treatment. Here are some common types:

Pigmented Dark Circles

Excess melanin production causes brown or black discolouration beneath the eyes. These black circles are frequently hereditary or caused by sun exposure.

Vascular Dark Circles

These are caused by blood vessels beneath the skin’s surface and show as bluish or purple discoloration. Genetics, allergies, and poor circulation can all influence their appearance.

Structural Dark Circles

It occurs as a result of shadowing induced by changes in the skin’s structure, such as volume loss or hollowing behind the eyes. Ageing, genetics, and lifestyle variables including sleep deprivation or dehydration.

Our medical specialists will thoroughly review your medical history and conduct a comprehensive examination to evaluate potential underlying causes such as hypothyroidism, nutritional deficiencies, or insulin resistance that might be contributing to your dark circles. Based on this assessment, the doctor will tailor a treatment plan and prescribe appropriate oral & topical medications to address your specific needs.

Chemical peeling

Chemical Peel is a controlled skin resurfacing procedure which includes application of plant based chemical solution on the affected area, which removes the dead skin and improves the texture by revealing a smooth and undamaged skin, promoting the production of collagen and elastin. Whether you have sensitive skin or severe dark circles concerns, our experienced dermatologists will tailor the peel to deliver optimal results while ensuring safety and comfort.
